Rosiline’s Bouquet
Above is a sneaky peek at Roseline’s bouquet she fell in love with the bouquet I did for a bride called Heather and ordered a similar bouquet of whites and blues. More pictures to come.
It’s been a crazy week hence the blogging silence, did I mention I’m moving studios on Saturday due to this I need to take a couple of days off from making to pack up and then un pack at the other end, so I have been working overtime the past 6 days to the wee hours some evenings to make it possible to take the days off with out delaying orders. And I’m pleased to say I am actually well on top of everything (except my blog and website) but orders are a priority. I cannot wait to move into the new studio I am literally counting down the days.
I may be silent until I’m settled as I will have to wait for an internet connection to be installed but I will be responding to all email enquiries through my phone so do get in touch if you have a question.
See you at the other side of next week when this blog will resume its normal daily updates!!!
Until then ?
Look at that bouquet – (Vintage Wednesday)
I love this picture (apologies I do not know where it came from) the bride is beautiful she looks like she could be one of the pink ladies from grease. Everyone who knows me knows how much I ♥ the 50’s and of course this brides dress is fabulous but it’s the bouquet that caught my eye, I would love to see this picture in colour and see what colour the flowers are. I love the scale of it and how it hangs, and the composition of the large flowers possibly chrysanthemum’s and the ribbon.

Berries and Cream – (Inspiration Monday)
This week’s inspiration is inspired by the bouquet I made for a bride called Alice and Gwen Stefani’s John Galliano gorgeous wedding dress. I think Berry reds and cream is a beautiful colour scheme for a wedding especially a valentines day wedding.

My holiday is over – (Sum up Sunday)
This week I have been on holiday from my job as a Textiles/Fashion Teacher as it has been half term, I have also taken a week off from making stock for Gabrielle Louise after the craziness of Valentines day orders and exhibiting at the vintage wedding fair. The vintage wedding fair was the higlight of the week as it was great to meet customers face to face and I have had so many orders that I will be kept busy for a good few months. The week has gone so quick I cannot believe its Monday tomorrow, I have a fantastic Inspiration Monday lined up for tomorrow so make sure you pay me a visit.
As usual I did not get to do everything I wanted to do over my holiday I did get away for a few days in Yorkshire staying at my mum’s and a weekend in Hampshire at my dads. One of the main tasks was re-launching this website which I’m really happy with, I just need to tweek some of the lay out and update the shop area, i’m really annoyed that I deleted all my old blog content however I am re posting the enteries I had saved on my computer so apologies to thoes of you who have already read them.
The rest of my holiday seemed to be spent in estate agents and traipsing around various houses most of which where totally unsuitable, Estate agents have an inability to listen,
Estate agent “so what kind of property are you looking for?”
Me “ a 2 bedroom flat in a converted Victorian house with a garden”,
Estate agent “ so what do you think of this one bedroom flat in a purpose built block?”
Me, “NOOOOOOOOOO!!!”
But I quite enjoy listening to them trying to pass off damp moldy as light an airy, we did however find the perfect place with a studio attached and we move in 2 weeks I cannot wait. The flat also has a garden so I’m going to get a rescue cat I have my eye on one he is gorgeous, I have applied to adopt him we are just waiting for the rescue place to say yay or nay, fingers crossed it will be good news.
I also got my brothers girlfriend my old school friend Lisa to model some of my wraps as I don’t think the dressmakers dummy does them justice and she has a fantastic figure, she is pictured above wearing the Isabella Wrap which comes in ivory silk dupion with a vintage lace trim and a large corsage, she is holding a Gabrielle Louise Bouquet. I will be sharing the rest of the pictures throughout the week.

20 reasons – (Love Letter Saturday)
When Andres asked me to marry him I asked him to give me 20 reasons why I should, now this might sound like I am a little full of myself however, when he first wanted me to be his girlfriend and I was playing hard to get (like every woman should) I made him give me 20 reasons why I should be his girlfriend. So I thought it only right and proper that he give me 20 reasons if he wanted me to be his wife.
I stitched the 20 reasons framed them in embroidery hoops and scattered them around our wedding reception.
Above is a picture of reason 14: “I will always make you a cup of tea” and he does but sometimes he needs persuading maybe I need to remind him about reason 14!
Reason 15: “It’s meant to be” well I could not argue with that could I?

New studio space for Gabrielle Louise
In two weeks time I will be moving into a new studio space (pictured above), I’m so excited. Readers of my old blog (the blog I accidentally deleted) will know that I only just moved into my current workspace which was only temporary until something more suitable came up. I have struggled to be creative in my current space as I am a creature who is very affected by my environment. I cannot wait to move in to this light airy room, it has high ceilings, and laminate flooring which is a bonus as I can just sweep up all my fabrics and pins at the end of each day, my current studio has carpet which the pins stick in and the threads cling to. With all this light photographing my work will be easy my current studio is dark and dingy and I will be able to invite customers over for consultations. It’s not a huge space but it will do me just fine.
Readers of my old blog may remember my goals for 2010 post I can now cross some of those goals off my list now which is ace as its only February
• Have a stall at the Vintage Bridal Fair
• Stock some products in Bridal shops
• Have products professionally modeled and photographed
• Print PR material
• Get products featured in a magazine
• Consistently update Blog (working on it)
• Get a permanent studio space
• Design a collection of Wedding Dresses
• Have a re brand website logo etc.
The last one can kind of be crossed off I have redesigned the site but some areas are still under construction
What where your goals for this year? have you achieved any of them yet?
